According to Enzenberger, “The author has to work as the agent of the masses. He can lose himself in them only when they become authors, the authors of history.” The artist demonstrate this idea through his work, The Artist’s Statement. Through the use of many diverse languages, the meanings of his words become lost in translation. It becomes so overwhelming the words lose their significance to the point that they transform into nothing but mere noise. The viewers must create their own meaning from the piece and explore the idea of the ‘desacralization of art.’
