This worldmap seeks to graphically display the location of any alternative, radical, citizen, participatory, community (etc.) media project in the world. The purpose of this work is to create an interactive chart of the world of alternative media.

As much as I appreciate the attempt to give an overview of the locations for “any alternative, radical, citizen, participatory, community (etc.) media project in the world”, this seems like an extremely limited view at best. Did they mean this is just where their conferences have been held?

we started to add media into this map less than a month ago, so everything is still to be done. If you’re not satisfied with it, you’re warmly welcome to participate. I’m sure with you’re help it is going to be much better. I also invite you to observe this map a little bit more precisely, an to compare the location of the media already included with the places where OurMedia conferences took place in the last years : the country most represented are Brazil, México, Israel-Palestine and France, but as far as I know, no OurMedia conference never took place in these countries (actually I just came to one of them, because with the money I earn as a PhD student in France, I just have enough cash to pay my rent and my food !)
